Privacy

No accounts, no sign-ups, nothing you do in a game is sent to me. Here is the whole of it, in plain words.

The games

Each game is one file that runs entirely in your browser. While you play, it talks to nobody: no scores uploaded, no events counted, no requests of any kind. Your best score is kept by your own browser, on your own device. Clear your browsing data and it is gone. I never see it, and neither does anyone else.

The server

The site is delivered by Amazon CloudFront, and like any web server it writes a line for each file it hands out: what was asked for, when, your IP address, and the name your browser gives for itself. I count those lines to see roughly how many people came by and which games they opened. That is the only thing I do with them, and they are deleted automatically after about thirteen months. There is no analytics script on this site and no cookie of mine.

Ads

The site is set up to carry ads from Google AdSense. When they are running, Google and its advertising partners may read and write cookies or similar storage in your browser to choose an ad and measure whether it worked. That part is Google’s doing, on Google’s terms, not mine, and it is described in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you are asked first, before any of that happens, and nothing beyond showing you a plain untargeted ad occurs if you say no. You can change your answer whenever you like from the link in the same banner.

The feedback form

The form on each game page is run by Tally. If you fill it in, what you typed goes to Tally and I read it there; if you ignore it, nothing is sent. It is an ordinary form, so please keep anything genuinely private out of it.

Asking me things

If you want to know what I hold about you, or want it deleted, say so through the feedback form. The honest answer is likely to be “a few server log lines, already on their way out”, but ask and I will check.
